The Chateau Single Vineyard Shiraz 2011

Lifted aromas of blackberry, blueberry and black pepper supported by spicy dark berry fruits on the palate. The finish is long and framed by elegant, fine grained tannins from eighteen months maturation in new and seasoned oak.

The grapes for this year’s Château Shiraz were grown on the sandy loam soils of blocks 11 and 15 of our Bethany vineyard which was originally planted in 1960.

This is an opulent, full-bodied wine with lifted aromas of blackberry, blueberry and cracked pepper supported by spicy, dark berry fruits on the palate. The extensive finish is framed by elegant fruit and fine-grained tannins, supported by the barrel maturation characters.

Although drinking well now this wine will benefit from medium-term cellaring.
