Nardini Grappa Distillery in Bolzano Italy

07/04/2021

In October of 2019, Franc, Manuella and I were lucky enough to visit the Nardini Grappa Distillery in Bolzano Italy.

As we went on our tour we were able to approciate the history that came with the city.

In World War II the bridge which the bar is on was hit by the Alpini and bullet holes can be seen. Within this time, underground tunnels were used to transport the grappa to different provinces, keeping a low profile while still producing this amazing brand.

We were able to taste the beautiful liquers, Acqua Di Cedro being my personal favourite.

Acqua di Cedro Liqueur is a traditional citron-based liqueur with a sweet citrus taste and dry finish. Technically can't be called a grappa due to the different making process but delicious nonetheless.

Another favourite is the Nardini Tagliatella grappa, which is a mixture of all the off cuts of around 15 other Nardini grappas to create a delicious, fruity, prevalent cherry taste with complex herbs and spices.

We were lucky to try their 22 year old aged grappa. Only one available for purchase.

This grappa is full and refined taste. The finish captures complex nuance due to the exceptional aging of 22 years in a Slavonian oak single cask.

This experience is one example of how our staff are willing to go that extra mile to help our customers choose quality products.

In our line of work, it's all about the service.
